SAME LOVE

I don’t think many people can say they share the same competitive sport with their BEST friend. Mostly because the competitiveness can break up a friendship, at the height of the game emotions can be overwhelming and conflicting on a friendship.
We were named Tweedledum and tweedledee by our psychologist. [A big part of how I think our friendship has never taken a tumble.] Of course I am Tweedledum and amber tweedledee: acing it in literature at uni, where I most likely need elocution lessons living down in England with a Scottish accent.

We can make a distinction between our irrational and rational thoughts and are able to separate them. Yes we have said stuff to each other that could’ve been taken by offense, but if you place it at the scene of the crime it was most likely an irrational in the moment thought. What I mean by this is around training and competition days athletes can be very emotional whether things are going good or bad and may be unaware of the others mental state = much more easily taken to heart. I think since we know each other away from the athlete life we understand each other … there’s the person and the paddler on our life!
She’s the sister I never got (Sorry bro)!
